Apartment intercom, access, and security camera systems

Apartment complexes are a major part of RARtech's work. We install, upgrade, and service entry systems, gate access, common-area cameras, and the networks behind them for owners and property managers across Southern California.

Shared entrances and lobbies

Main entrances get the most use. Entry panels need to be simple for visitors, durable, and reliably connected to the doors they control.

  • Video entry panels with resident directories
  • Door release from residents' phones, monitors, or the leasing office, depending on the system
  • Lobby and vestibule doors on access control
  • Package room and mail area access

Resident and visitor access

With constant turnover, management needs to add and remove residents, fobs, and codes without a service call. Visitors call a resident from the entry panel, and the resident lets them in.

  • Individual fobs, cards, or codes for each resident
  • Directory updates at move-in and move-out
  • Scheduled access for vendors and maintenance staff on supported systems
  • Entry records for management where the system keeps them

Vehicle and pedestrian gates

We connect access control and intercoms to driveway, garage, and pedestrian gates.

  • Gate intercoms for visitors
  • Readers or keypads for residents' vehicles and pedestrian gates
  • Connection to existing gate operators

Common-area and parking cameras

Cameras give management a record of activity in shared spaces. Coverage should focus on shared areas, not views into private units.

  • Building entrances and lobbies
  • Parking lots, carports, and garages
  • Laundry rooms, mail areas, and trash enclosures
  • Pools, courtyards, and walkways
  • Perimeter fences and gates

Network connections across the property

Entry panels, cameras, and recorders often span several buildings, garages, and gates. We run cabling, install switches, and connect remote equipment so everything works as one system.

Replacing aging systems

Many properties have an old audio intercom, analog cameras, or equipment added over the years. We test what is in place, explain the options, and can phase the work to suit the budget.

Entrance work is scheduled so residents can still get in and out.

Working with property managers

We coordinate access to units, roofs, garages, and equipment rooms with management. After installation, we handle directory and credential changes, added cameras or doors, and repairs.

Questions

Common questions

Do you work with small buildings as well as large complexes?

Yes. We work on single buildings with one entrance and on multi-building properties with several gates and garages.

Can cameras and entry systems be upgraded separately?

Often they can. Shared wiring, network equipment, and compatibility need to be reviewed first. We can help decide what is needed now and what can wait.

What should a property manager send before a site visit?

The property address; the number of buildings, entrances, and gates; the current systems (brand and model if known); the problems you are seeing; and photos of the entry panels and recorder or control equipment.
